What a beautiful shot of what was one of the finest classes of general cargo liners to sail under the Red Ensign.
My favourite is/ was GLENFALLOCH as I saw over her when she was building in Glasgow.
I read somewhere that it was originally intended that they receive the domed funnel which CENTAUR and the PRIAMS got. Whether that would have been a good thing or not I don't know.....
It is such a pity the preservation scheme for either the former GLENFALLOCH or GLENOGLE came to nothing as they disappeared in China.

Hi Allan,

Lovely shot - out of interest, what scanner do you have? It seems to produce much sharper scans than my current model does.

Hi David

I have been promising myself a good scanner for a long time and now that I have sold my house and moved I have managed to buy one. It is a Nikon Coolscan 5000ED and was bloody expensive. But as with most things you get what you pay for and I am well pleased with my initial results. I am sure there are various tweaks I have not yet found. So watch this space there'll be lots more to come.

all the best

Allan
