.The OPV Nemesis will be used primarily to patrol NSW ocean waters and take part in major law enforcement operations. She was custom built for the NSW Police Force based on a Philippines Coastguard design.

. She is capable of patrolling the 1000 nm coast line from Tweed Heads to Eden and hundreds of kilometres out to sea. The 32-metre boat will play a significant role in ocean rescues and surveillance and pursuit operations.

.The vessel is powered by two Caterpillar twin turbo charged engines. It can reach a sprint speed of 27 knots and has a total range of 1350 nautical miles cruising at 20 knots. Equipment includes sophisticated satellite communication systems, night vision camera, desalination plant and accommodation to sleep a crew of ten water police.

.Tenix Defence in Western Australia won the contract to build the vessel in 2007 at a cost of AUD$11 million.
