The C1-M-AV1 "Pocket Liberty" type ATHEN was operated by Vania Compania Naviera S.A. (N.Tsimaras) between 1972 and 1980. Here she is seen passing Rozenburg outbound from Rotterdam on 26th March 1975 following a voyage from West Africa.

Launched at Savannah on 30.6.45 as SOLID SINNET, she was completed at Tampa in December 1947 as AULNE for Cie. de Nav. Paquet of Marseille.

Sold to Greece in 1965 she had traded as SERENE MED until 1972.

Laid up at Piraeus on 12th February 1979 she finally arrived at Castellon in May 1980 for breaking.
