It can be seen here that this innovative/interesting/bizarre (choose your description) superstructure is not the "real" superstructure, which remains pretty angular, but an added aerodynamic cover. So, the additional weight must have been taken into consideration when calculating the savings due to less air drag.
As for the fact that the bridge placed completely forward can get pretty uncomfortable during heavy weather - pictured here is the heaviest weather she will encounter in her service. This is not an ocean going ship, but a coastal feeder that calls at ports with limited draft (this is her owner's trading niche and specialty), so she's not really exposed to "winter north Atlantic" type seas...
