She was named USNS ALGOL since was converted from container ship ( Sea Land) to Roll on Roll Off (RO-RO) in 1984 to 2007 . Ship was moved from MSC to MarAd in 2007 and USNS was dropped off her official name.

Probably because she's a US Navy Ship :-)
