I haven`t been to Murmansk since then, but Yury Gusev wrote in his comment that it was completely dismantled after the fire: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2650347
By the way, there is one more of my pictures with a general view: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1777672
Best wishes,
Maksim

Maxim Abramov: Thank you for the Video..I am very sad to see my beloved "Spalmatori Jnr" to have such a tragic end.
I wonder , after the fire did they repair it ? is she still there ?

Maksim,
the location given in my 1st/2nd comment as 69.11N and 35.48E is the entrance of River Woronja where she was beached some 50 nm east of Kola Bay/entrance to Murmansk, but not indicating an inland point when checked with Google Earth Pro.
Btw, the master Skardassis gave information about the ships voyage if you follow this link:

Best wishes, Manfred

I was the master of the "Spalmatori Jnr" during the entire period under this name and the Ownership of
Lemos & Pateras Ltd (London). The vessel salvaged and towed to Murmansk by a gigantic Soviet Tug "Altair" where drydocked and declared CTL and abandoned to underwriters .seemingly, the salvors kept half of it and used as a their dock office. It was my first command as a young captain at that time. It hurts seeing the remains of this nice
little lady in this photo..

Thank you very much for the information! In fact I was observing this superstructure for many years since it is located in a prominent position right next to the Murmansk passenger terminal, but had no idea the vessel had such an interesting story. Here is a view from another angle from the website of the company which owns it: http://www.rucompany.ru/company.php?id_company=3241&op=image&id_image=19052

I forgot to mention that the conversion from tank barge to cargo ship in 1955 was done by Travewerft, Lübeck (yard no. 211).
