Description:
The port of Ardrossan is located on the western side of Gulf St Vincent, 150 km north west of Adeleiade by road. It is used primarily for grain exports from the wheat farms on Yorke Peninsula. The photo shows the seaward end of the 930-metre long grain jetty, with the bulk carrier ADELIE (IMO 9207807) lying at the deep water berth at the T head of the jetty. The jetty's conveyor belt system is capable of loading 900 tonnes of grain per hour. The stone breakwater of the Ardrossan Boat Ramp can be seen in the foreground.
