Description:

17/03/2023, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Islas Canarias, Spain.

A German owned container ship, laid-up, and requiring engine repairs.

https://www.reederei-jenswaller.de/english/fleet/mv-geeske/

Vessel broke down with main engine problems offshore Nouakchott, Mauritania, and was subsequently taken in tow by the AHTS 'Pacific Porpoise' (IMO 9503421, and which attended the casualty from Dakar, Senegal).
It seems the casualty was handed over to local Boluda owned tugs, while approaching the South of Gran Canaria, which brought her to this berth.
The Pacific Porpoise then diverted to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Keel laid on 08/07/2004, launched on 04/01/2005, & completed on 14/11/2005, by Jiangdong Shipyard, Wuhu, China (1100teu6)
9,966 g.t., 13,698 dwt., & 1,118 teu, as:
'Alianca Pampas' to 2009,
Asian Glory' to 2010,
'Shippan Island' to 2017, &
'Geeske' since.

I shall try Rick but I'm not very good with pasting and copying. I'll have a go.

The ex-SHIPPAN ISLAND. Photographed in 2013 with something hanging off her superstructure as she departed Dutch Antilles.
