Venice (as Manfred was kind enough to point out four months ago). The photograph was taken when Stefan Batory was on a cruise to the Mediterranean Sea (including the Adriatic Sea). It must have been after the season when regular navigation was possible on the St. Lawrence River. The ship operated a regular connection between Gdynia and Montreal (with calls at Hamburg, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Tilbury, Quebec). At the end of the ship's "life" the route was slightly changed. The ports of Copenhagen, Tilbury and Quebec remained on it. AMMIANA ferry visible in the foreground ( https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/217376?navList=gallery&shipName=Ammiana&shipNameSearchMode=begins&page=1&viewType=normal&sortBy=newest )

Hi Vladimir,
this location is easy with ferry AMMIANA upfront, it's Venice/Venezia, Italy.

Hi Manfred,
Thank you for clarification with location.
For some reason I decided that it was somewhere in Northern Europe.
Kind regards, Vladimir
