Description:
Caribbean Land & Shipping passenger ship SEVEN SEAS as shown while downbound the St.Lawrence River off Québec City in July 1962.
Built in 1940 as the US-flsg Moore-McCormack cargo ship MORMACMAIL, she was taken over in 1941 by the US Navy and converted to the escort carrier LONG ISLAND. In 1948, she was sold commercial and was converted into a passenger ship as NELLY. She became SEVEN SEAS in 1953 and carried many immigrants from Europe to Canada. She is shown here on the return leg of one of her trips to Montréal.

What a fantastic photo of a great old ship.
One of the smaller "unsung" liners.
I last saw this ship in 1968 when she was tied up behind the Jan Bakyx in Rotterdam and was being used as an accomodation ship.
Must dig the photo out.
