MV Rolf Behrmann sunk 25 January 1966 on the River Ems after crash in thick fog with Svedish MV Vassijaure 16173 Gross. Owner Richard Behrmann died by heartattack, son Rolf Behrmann, new owner after rebuilding ship at dockyard Emden. Outgoing in the tramp shipping market.
43 000 cfeet capacity, 980 tons, 8 crewmembers, underated Engine 520 HP, 5 auxiliary engines 80 - 20 HP, 11 knots, 42000 l gasoil. MV Rolf Behrmann ex MV Friborg was built for intermediate and long-distance trade. From 1967 only general cargo ship from continantal harbours, Hamburg or Dutch Harbours to England, later mostly London, London Bridge, Northfleet, Tower Wharf, Colchester, Norwich, sometimes Belfast, Peterhaed.
