Why not forget the unofficial Miramar ID number and any potential IMO number. The vessel never had an IMO number and its GB registry official number was 168519. End of.

E. EVANGELIA
She have no IMO nr.but an ID nr.1168519
If she should have gotten an IMO nr. it would be: 5291381.

Hello P.F. Kerr

You are right, the correct number is/was 529138. My mistake. In your reaction you wrote the number 1168519, but I think the correct number is/was 168519. Is that correct?

Thanx for your kind comment Jens!

The painting looks like a cormorant, or a creature from the depth. Maybe the Monster of the Black Sea? ;-)

IMO 5291138 is incorrect. It doesn't comply to the formula for these numbers.
It has been transposed as an ID from miramarshipsindex, which allocates 529138 to this ship in 1961 when she became the REDBROOK of D.L. Street Ltd., Newport, U.K. This may be a Lloyd's number, I don't know.
To complicate matters, the same ship as I remember seeing her in Dunedin a long time ago, SAXON STAR is listed as 1168519. This needs to be sorted out, I think.

A fine photo Koos!

The sea must be quite calm there when she's sitting there for almost 50 years. Think of how the Atlantic Ocean battered and finally devoured the wreck of American Star.

I like the painting on the hull here - what is it, a bird?

Cheers
Jens

Hi Adi, I saw your picture, the wreck is in bad shape now. Look at the wheelhouse at your picture (7 years ago) and at my picture. Pitty...
