5/1981
A NZ Castle class Minewsweeper, steam powered.
Launched 16/10/1943 and work suspended when 95 % complete 29/6/1944.
Laid up at Auckland and sold for conversion to fishing trawler, completed as such 12/1946.
Renamed Taiaroa.
1964 converted to diesel.
Laid up Wellington 9/1974 to 4/1982 when sold.
5/7/1982 departed for Taurnaga under own power.
She was chartered and cosmetically restored to look like the fictitious German Gunboat ‘SCHLESWIG HOLSTEIN’ for the movie ‘Savage Islands’.
1982 laid up at Auckland after filming finished in Bay of Islands.
1989 sold and sunk as target by RNZN.
