COMMENT THIS PHOTO(6)
what an interesting conversation. Well Cornelia, Michael gave the correct answer to your question. For an impression of the new Altona Cruise Terminal have a look here: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1281762
I took the photo from the top of Dockland (as Michael described correctly "the stylish building in the background").
Greetings,
Jens

Now that I understand your question, I am afraid I do not know the answer. It is now some 24 years since I last visited Hamburg and that Altona terminal was not there then.
I think Jens Boldt speaks better English than I do so perhaps there was no need to communicate with him in German on the open site - especially when the rules say the language on this site is English. See also my contribution to the Forum thread on this subject.
Best Regards
Bob

But since your couriosity lead you to post here too, and your native language is English, indeed I want to know, whether this terminal, which I remember well as DFDS ferry terminal, and which was closed for some time, is used as passenger terminal for cruiseship passengers again, or the Aida ship I saw there, was berthed there for other reason than passenger exchange.
I hope, I could give you some satisfaction ! Of course I'd be more satisfied if you do know the answer to my question.

According to Google Translate, you said: “AIDA a crusader, I've also seen her at the terminal. Does this mean that the terminal will be used again? Were indeed the DFDS ferry departed earlier than this still existed”.
That is Gobbledegook but, from my memory of long-ago German language lessons, I understand that you have also seen an AIDA cruise ship on that terminal. Then, obviously, because Google got it right, you ask: “Does this mean that the terminal will be used again? “. You then say something about it being where the DFDS ferries used to call. I don’t really understand that bit. Last time I came to Hamburg by ferry, it was to St Pauli Landungsbruecken.
Please enlighten me and please use English language on this site. What you have to say is very interesting. It would be a pity if members were not able to understand it.
Regards
Bob
