Built in 1980, Cape Fame mids 50m long and is now a factory ship registered in Chile under the name of Friosur X(CB 4820).

FRIOSUR is one of the main Chilean companies of food production in the area of fish for human consumption. It began its operations more than 15 years ago as part of the DERSA group, a recognized and well-established Chilean economic group. In 1992, FRIOSUR formed a partnership with Grandi HF, a well known Icelandic fishing company and a leader in the industry.

To assure the supply and quality of raw materials, FRIOSUR has a fleet of five vessels, all of them equipped with state-of-the-art technology for the capture and handling of fish. A volume of about 50,000 tons per year of first quality fish is captured.

There is a temperature and time control program on board the vessels, which allows the fleet to deliver raw material to the plant in perfect freshness conditions, maintaining zero degrees Celsius at all times.

The ships are endowed with processing decks and equipment for an adequate handling of the fish on board. This allows the products to arrive in excellent conditions to the consumers.
