Bom dia Luis,

Yes this is a slide that I got from Don Smith. It is a wonderful slide and has scanned beautifully.
I was delighted to hear from you and I have emailed you on your private email.

Hello Brian,

That particular photograph of the NIASSA was taken at Funchal, Madeira Island, on 9th January 1978. I did the photograph... It was the first of 8 round trips of the NIASSA between Lisbon and Funchal under charter to CTM following the crash of a TAP Boeing 727 at Madeira airport in late 1977... NIASSA was withdrawn that March and sold for scrap in 1979. Broken up at Bilbao.
This particular slide must have been exchanged by myself with another fellow ship photographer at about that time, probably Gerry Duke or Don Smith, both great ship photographer with whom I did exchange lots of original slides in the early eighties. I have not heard from them for many years and hope they are well...
I'm glad this slide found its way into the collection of Brian. If you would like to exchange original slides with me I do have lots of spare ones...
