As suggests the general shape of her hull, Angoumois has been built in Dieppe(Normandy - France; rectification after observation of fredboels) and then was brought into service at La Rochelle in 1969. This stern trawler of 38m was ordered by the ARPV, Association Rochelaise de Pêche à Vapeur.
She left the fishing fleet in 1991 and was offered to the Maritime Museum of La Rochelle which makes her classify as an Historic Monument in 1993!
With on his board a crew of twelve men, the Angoumois operated in open sea in fishing banks of Portugal, Eire and Scotland for fifteen days campaigns. She unloaded then between 25 and 50 tons of fish.
