Fernley, should you come to Sandefjord once, i'll show you around. you have access to i dont know... 80 per cent of this ship, and there are lots of other marine-related stuff here as well.

Arne: Same goes to you. I saw her at Norsteam, and it was a delight, it was allmost to many ships at bryggen, but the Nordstjernen stole the show. WHAT a beauty!!!!

Thanks for the comments, all of you!

Tomas, I was sailing side-by-side with this beauty from Karmsundet to Lindesnes a few days ago. We kept exactly the same speed, but at Lindesnes we changed course for Esbjerg, while the whaler continued to Sandefjord. Unfortunately it was night-time, so no photos

Whatever the history of the ship, it's a lovely pic of happy people admiring her in her current status.

The whole near-extintion of a number of whales done by us Squareheads and other nationalities is really disgusting.
3 generations of my family or even four has been part of it.
Not me!

Your right Allan about the whales.

While Japan continues with this they are the target, but the USA/UK and Norway killed by far the largest number of these magnificent creatures, but all this is history which is not taught by Greenpeace or Sea Shephard to any great degree.

My country NZ rants on about it while decimating the toothfish in the Ross Sea, still that is progress.

NZ after annexing the Ross Sea was also responsible for allowing UK/NORWAY etc in to the Ross Sea in 1920's, allowing them to bring the Blue Whale to near extinction within in a few years.
