This is the former purpose built Fisheries Research Vessel Explorer. Built for the Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen by Hall Russel to a fairly classic Steam Trawler design. She is now in Leith docks where a group are trying to preserve her. This vessel used to do research at Iceland, White sea, Barents sea and around the North Sea and West Coast of Scotland.
