Ozzy, compared to "big" Korean shipyards, Daesun is microscopic. However, they do have a very well established technology for assembling big prefabricated blocks welded elsewhere, and are really proficient in "printing" similar vessels (in size and type).

@ fergal..They were considering Panamax sizes bulkers several years ago. It's strange though that Ireland an island Nation doesn't have more shipping companies..But it's a very cyclical and tough business to be in..I suppose.

@ Vlad thank you for the Update. This looks like quite a big yard.It gets lost with Hyundai and Samsung and Daewoo etc..

@ Catain Ted..Yes Red for visiilty..The other ships are Gearless..So I guess it's not a bad idea..The Officers would be used to Gearless ships..So now they have something to think about!!! Safety is NO accident..After all.

Red color of crane housings & jibs is final, I'm afraid... ;)

This makes me proud to be Irish. Who ever thought that such a fine big lady would be registered in the small little port of Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland :) Its a testament to Arklow Shipping and their "smooth operation"

@ozzy76
but red subdues the future rust :-) and least by vision

I hope those red cranes are the colour of the primer...Red and green..should never be seen..They should paint them white to match the accomidaion.

"Arklow Spray" is also at Daesun, with a bit more welding machines on her deck, but she's not very far behind the "Spirit". However, as snipers would say, "could not get a clear shot of her"...:)

Any sign of the second ship, Vlad? Both were due for delivery earlier in 2013 but clearly delayed.
