So much for being "sunk". Yes, she is aground, with a slight tilt (trim) forward, if one can notice it. But does this count as "sunk"? :)

What did you expect, some Costa Concordia?

Saw the photo published. Read the Google translated version here: I quote....Oil rig " Deepsea Aberdeen " which was under construction for Bergen company Odfjell Drilling , sank Saturday morning at the DSME yard in town Okbo in South Korea.

- The water has seeped into the hull of a rig we have ordered from DSME shipyard in South Korea. The hull is now at the bottom docked , says press officer Gisle Johanson in Odfjell Drilling bt.no.

In the picture above , which is used with permission from the side gCaptain.com , you see the dramatic situation caught on camera by an anonymous witness.
Norwegians on board

National Oilwell Varco , which has offices in Kristiansand, had a total of 38 people aboard the rig when it sank . Six of these were Norwegian . The six must be from Stavanger , Kristiansand and Aukra.

- As it happened , all evacuated immediately and brought safely ashore . No one is injured . All of our employees are in good shape , says CEO Tor Henning Ramfjordbotn National Oilwell Varco in Kristiansand Fædrelandsvennen .

The company states that it has control of the situation .

- We have established our emergency team and have contact with relatives , said Ramfjordbotn .

He emphasizes that the rig is not under water.

- The rig has taken on water and on the seabed . It has not sunk under water. The depth is about 20 meters, he said .
- Dramatically

BT has been in contact with relatives and employees of the NOV , and it was evident that the situation was experienced as dramatic . The relatives and employees , however, been told by the company not to speak to the press .

Ramfjordbotn say they have been in contact with all employees.

- How did the situation?

- I can not say anything but that when a big rig begins to roll and take in water and go to the bottom , so it is of course dramatically. There is a big rig , he said.

Ramfjordbotn says that safeguards have largely worked , and that they came ashore via walkways and emergency exits on rigged.
- Personnel accounted for

Odfjell Drilling has had personnel in place in South Korea who has worked with the monitoring of the construction project .

- We have confirmed that all personnel are accounted for , and there shall not be any serious injuries , said spokesman Gisle Johanson .

The company is working Saturday with an overview and identify the consequences of the accident.

- We assume that the yard will spend some time to uncover what has happened .
Major contract

" Deepsea Aberdeen » cost over four billion and according to the agreement delivered to Odfjell Drilling during the second quarter of 2014 .

According offshore.no going straight into the new building on a seven-year BP to a value of at least seven billion Norwegian kroner, with options to extend the agreement .

The rig is a semi - rig and sister rig of the Deepsea Atlantic and Deepsea Stavanger. It was scheduled to drill partly in the Norwegian Sea in Norway and partly in the British sector .

- I can confirm that this is an important delivery for us and that we have focused on getting the rig delivered and commissioned in accordance with the plan. We will of course be influenced by what has happened , but we can say how big the impact will be for us, says Johanson .
Other accident to NOV

Also in December 2012 heeling rig at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore with 15 NOV employees on board. None of the 15 were injured.

- It was a completely different shipyards in another country . It was a different type of rig and a completely different causation. For our part , our procedures and safety rules, and they are well looked after by this professional yard , as his stuff in order, says Ramfjordbotn to Fædrelandsvennen . Unquote.

No drama needed. Rig had something go wrong while building. And all are safe.

They had stabilized her before this picture. It actually looked quite a bit more dramatic before, although she clearly did not "sink"- Pictures here: http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/uriks/Norsk-milliard-rigg-sank-ved-Sor-Korea-7419225.html

Thank's for your on the spot proof with the "not sunk" photo.

Big noise made by some wanting to create sensationalism.
I guess news is quite this time of year.

Kind regards and thanks
