Beg to differ, Ted. Doehle has a quite an number of larger box boats this colour and, like this one, with their own funnel marking.
BTW: Isn't this location known as Piraeus Roads?

One other explanation could be that it is one of the OT oehle ships which are only managed by them but retained the owners colors

Sandygates

This could be ship could have been before in another charter and no time/money to repaint

OK, thank you, sandygates. I had no idea that I had encountered (and photographed) something so 'attention-grabbing'. The only reason I photographed the ship was that we were passing so closely that it seemed like a good photo opportunity. Thank you for explaining the interest.

Attention grabbing because it is not the usual MSC livery but that of Peter Dohehle, Hamburg, from whom she is on charter

I know little or nothing about container ships, so I'm intrigued to know why this picture has generated so many hits.

I only put that as a rough guide to her location. We had sailed from Piraeus and were heading towards the Corinth Canal, which we would transit. This ship was nearer to the entrance of the canal than it was to the entrance to Piraeus harbour.

Hope she was indeed some way off the Corinth Canal. Max beam permitted is, I think, 16.5m
