Description:

Operator: Devon Maritime Ltd. Flag: Liberia.
Built 1956 by Harima Zosensho, Aioi, Japan. Yard no 492. LR/IMO no 5235521.
Propulsion: two Ishikawajima steam turbines of 15,000 shp total output for a speed of 16 knots.
Sold 1974 to Tsakos Shipping & Trading SA, Greece as IRENES CHALLENGE.
On January 17, 1977, on a voyage from Venezuela to Japan with a cargo of heavy crude oil, she sprang a leak and, the following day, broke in two and sank.
