@ Matty,, SBM is not "under grain" because you poor it and it stays where it lands more or less. GRAINS have usually low angels of repose,,therefore grain has to be levelled,,wherby of course having a full hatch, it is best !!!! Ship like the Sacramento if they load only corn,,then 4 holds are complete full and the 5th is usually at 80-90 % full, then the vessel is on draft mark. She can sail with that with no problem and has enough residual stability. the grain heel stability factor must be as per US regs above 12 degrees on arrival discharging port.

Btw,,this is SBM = Soy Bean Meal,, no pigeons,,they are ashore , plenty grain around there on the docks
