The T&T Express, built in 1997 was purchased by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and commissioned into service on 2006 December 27.

Facilities include a café/restaurant area and a bar as well as a ramp for the disabled. It is 91.3 metres in length with a speed of 38-40 knots which enables the vessel to complete the journey between the two islands in 2 ½ hours. It can accommodate some 840 passengers and 200 cars/vans.
