Please keep an eye out for the 'real' "Ivy 1" in your Caribbean & Panamanian voyages; I would like to know that she is still afloat and working!

Transportes Maritimos Perdomo Santana, of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, had a hand in various old coasters operating in the Spain/ Morocco/ Canay Islands trades.
Their one-ship, limited company vessels were painted in white, Blue & yellow - the colours of the flag of the Canary Islands.
I look forward to the next photo, dead or alive, of the ship. Perhaps Captain Ted will find her in the jungle!
Regards and thanks,
Rick

7/2002 La Belle Marine SA, Panama
5/2003 mngd Transportes Maritimos Perdomo Santana SL, Las Palmas
2005 the drug-running incident outlined above
2007 this photo presumably connected to her return to service - then seems to have traded regularly between mainland Spanish ports and the Canary Islands
1/2009 arrived Santa Cruz de Tenerife with soy beans from Palamos & Tarragona - later embargoed by port authority, and no trace of owner (La Belle Marine) to pay port dues etc. Vessel apparently abandoned, public auction failed
18/10/2011 reported intention to sink her as a reef off Tenerife.

Haven't found any subsequent report on whether that scuttling happened.
Then after four years gap, AIS sources reported the ship sailing from Cadiz on 7/6/2016 and arriving Panama 26/6/2016; then no further movements until an isolated AIS report on 15/3/2017 of her berthed in the Panama Canal. MarineTraffic gives name for this report as IVY I; AISlive and VesselFinder gives the same report but with name "RAY II"
However, RAY II is the name of a Panama Canal Co passenger launch - and the AISlive report adds "pilot boat" and dimensions "17 x 4 x 4.83".

Furthermore, the location of this AIS signal appears to be the PCCo marine base near the Miraflores Locks. I have strong doubts abouth this actually relating to the ship in question. Perhaps Panama authorities re-allocated the MMSI?
I don't know why, Rick, but the hotlink appears if it just starts with the "www"
but I cannot get the Spanish blog above to do it!

My 'new' word of the day - 'panga'!
I was surprised to see that the vessel is still in existence in Panama; I expected her to have ended her days at Logiscrap!
