Description:

Crane ship of the United States Navy Ready Reserve Fleet seen moored at Alameda Point, the former Naval Air Station Alameda on San Francisco Bay. Originally ordered by MARAD as a C6-s-1qa-type breakbulk freighter, she was placed into service with American President Lines and fully containerized as a C6-s-1qc-type in 1973. Starting in 1984, she was reclaimed for the Ready Reserve Fleet and rebuilt as a C6-s-MA1qd-type crane ship.
