Description:

Alfred Holt's 1948 Greenock built CYCLOPS is seen passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago today, on 7th September 1969.

Duncan Haws' book on Blue Funnel Line records that, in July 1975, she was renamed AUTOMEDON to release the name CYCLOPS for a new tanker and that in December that year she was transferred to Elder Dempster Line services. Chartered to Nigerian National Line in the first quarter of 1977, she finally arrived at Dalmuir in August 1977 to be broken up.
