Yes Vlad - all is clear and logical
If their tastes change, they may indeed get to Д Ре́йнхардт

In Russian, Gioachino becomes Djoakino.

But, like our good friend Django would say, "D is silent"...

Both her sisters Puccini and Verdi would suffer the same fate, their Cyrillic and Latin names being different, but not the "Bellini"... :)

Cheers

Vlad

Thank you, Davidships for shining some light on the matter. Unfortunately I am not really into opera). However, in this case the name on the board is written correcly (according to the Russian for name Gioachino), but there is still mismatch between the Russian and Latin names of this ship: usually ship`s names are transferred from Russian to Latin by transliteration, but not in this case.

Clearly opera composer G[ioachino] ROSSINI intended.
Sister PUCCINI is now G[iacomo] PUCCINI (IMO 9156993)

Thank you, Aleksi&Tane! Actually, I didn`t even look there:). That`s funny indeed!

G.ROSSINI painted on a board near the funnel in Latin alphabet... I think the Cyrillic name painter made a mistake.

That`s strange and funny, but I clearly see russian Д(D) before Rossini (but certainly not Г(G)). Could there be a mistake in the Register?
