Description:

*Pinemore* B187102. Launched 28 December 1954 at Burntisland by Burntisland SBCoLtd. as hull no. 355 for Johnston Warren lines Ltd., Liverpool. 372' x 53'9" x 21'9.5;" 3597 gt, 1707 nt; Doxford 4-cylinder Diesel, 600 x 2320mm, built by Hawthorn, Leslie Ltd., Newcastle.

Transferred to Prince Line Ltd. in 1965 and renamed *African Prince.* Sold 1971 to Maldive SSCoLtd., London, and renamed *Maldive Mail.* Burned a total loss and abandoned 31 May 1975 on a voyage from Karachi to Singapore off Veravel, 20.51N, 70.22E8.

Photograph taken May 1960 as she lands at Lake Calumet, Chicago, Illinois, USA, to load EMD Diesel locomotives for delivery to Scotland. She and her near-sister *Beechmore* operated in the Furness, Withy Great Lakes service in conjunction with Manchester Liners.

I sailed on her from October to December 1968. We dropped cargo in the Caribbean and picked up in Gulf States of USA. Trying to find my fellow officers and sailors but Canadian government somehow owns the crew records and wont release until October 2018. if there are any crew members out there please get in touch

Beautiful vessel, indeed, I saw in 18´970 in the port of Hamburg, long, long ago.
