Description:

Passing South Head departing Sydney. Launched 1954 as Ivernia. Renamed Franconia in 1963, and Fedor Shalyapin in 1973. 21717 GRT 185.3m x 24.5m. Under charter to CTC 1975. After a 8 years of being laid up in Ilichevsk near Odessa since December 1995 FEDOR SHALYAPIN began her last voyage to India in 2003. She sailed on her own engines with a crew of 45 members.

Thank you Edson and Paul. Spent many hours on North Head in my younger days waiting for ships to pass. This was one of the better shots.
