The 1987 Numakuma built bulk carrier BELGREETING, which was launched as PACIFIC GREETING and was managed by Chemikalien Seetransport of Hamburg (but from April 2006 by Domina Shipmanagement of Piraeus), is seen berthed at Liverpool on 11th March 2006.

I would make an educated guess that the structure mentioned is a retrofitted IGS (inert gas system) scrubber unit from when the ship was converted to an ore/bulk/oil combination carrier

What is the steel structure at the stern?
I notice this ship was launched as a bulker in 1985, and then converted in the yard (Tsuneishi) to an O/B/O, completed in 1987 as "WESTERN GREETING".
One photo on the site has her described as a waste disposal vessel. There's not a lot of information out there about her.
