I sailed on this ship twice when she was the Sea-Land Independence, the last time in 2003. Long hours and hard work, but a great deal of satisfaction for a job well done. Sad to see her like this. Maersk took over Sea-Land and sold the ship to MSC. After that she got into a collision with another vessel off the Hook of Holland, with the result seen here. Only quick action by Dutch salvage tugs prevented the ship from foundering. Giant cranes literally had to support the ship alongside the dock in order for the cargo to be discharged.
