Description:
Andrew Weir's 1972 Doxford & Sunderland built FLEETBANK is seen swinging in Victoria dock, Melbourne.
Russell Priest of the Nautical Association of Australia has advised as follows:
"Central Pier can be seen behind FLEETBANK, indicating that the shot was taken from about No.2 Vic Dock. There is a Union Company ro/ro berthed at the Union Steam ro/ro terminal in Vic Dock. That terminal had moved to Vic Dock from North Wharf, up river, in the mid 70s. The Union Co ro/ro is most likely UNION LYTTELTON."
FLEETBANK was sold in 1981 and renamed FLORIDA, as which she was wrecked on 27.10.84 during a voyage from Recife to Abu Dhabi. It is thought that she had finally arrived at Gadani Beach on 1.11.86 for breaking as BERRY.
