Description:

Upper level of engine room looking aft, showing tops of Rolls Royce Bergen V16s. The large green box behind the starboard engine is the boiler which is never used, it’s main purpose would be to provide steam to the heating coils in the vessel’s large oil recovery tanks. Just visible behind the port engine is the complex hydraulic pipework for winches etc. The two vertical silver pipes are the exhausts from the two Volvo Penta generators located on the level below between the main engines.

Good guess jaybird but she had a main engine overhaul and the decks were understandably a mess afterwards, it was a good opportunity to paint them and the chief fancied lightening the place up. I might still have some pictures of the engines in bits.

She is quite neat. The decks have since been painted pale grey which makes the whole engine room much lighter.
