Description:

US-flag chemical/sulphur-tanker LOUISIANA BRIMSTONE photographed at Tampa in February 1986.
She was built 1945 at Chester, Pa. as T-2 tanker CAMP CHARLOTTE. In 1947 she was renamed ROBERT E. HOPKINS and in 1964 LOUISIANAN. Then she had a large rebuilding at Newport News to sulphur carrier. The vessel got a new bow and cargo-section.
When back in service again in early 1965 she was renamed LOUISIANA BRIMSTONE.
On 20th february 1991 she stranded off Coatzacoalcos. Later refloated, and after temporary repairs at Veracruz she was sailed to Tampa, where she was laid up.
She was later sold for B/U, and arrived in tow at Alang, India in January 1993.
