Description:
The U.S.S.R.'s North-Western River Shipping Company of Leningrad's 1964 Gorokhovets built Proj. 781 type BALTIYSKIY-2 (or BALTIJSKIJ-2) is seen approaching Kiel Holtenau locks from the Baltic on 5th November 1974. She had sailed from Gdynia on 23rd October 1974 bound for Szczecin.
In 1996 she was sold to SP American Eagle of Odessa, Ukraine, and renamed EAGLE
Arriving at Piraeus on 6th July 1998, she was subsequently sold to Pantelis Athanassiadis of Piraeus and renamed SWAN. Following a voyage to Bulgaria in mid 1999, SWAN returned to Piraeus Roads and was named KOSTIS but foundered there on 10th November 1999.
The outbound tanker in the background has been identified as POLYVOS (IMO 5376870)
