Koninklijke Nedlloyd NV (until 1970 NV Stoomvaart Mij "Nederland")'s 1953 Amsterdam built BAWEAN is seen passing Tilbury, inbound for one of London's enclosed docks exactly fifty years ago today, on 3rd April 1972 during a voyage from Hamburg to Abu Dhabi.

She suffered an engine room fire on 6.3.81, then beached near Cigading, near Merak, on 9.5.81, when carrying a cargo of rice and was subsequently broken up.
