It's just over one year since the former Manchester Ship Canal Company's ancient floating crane left the canal for a supposed new life as a bar/restaurant in Newcastle. The disappointing but not entirely surprising news that this piece of history has met her end at a scrapyard prompted me to dig out another photo taken at the start of her last voyage and her first trip to sea since her delivery voyage from the Netherlands in the 1930s.
