Exactly 50 years ago - departing from Avonmouth on the afternoon of Tuesday 4th October 1972 - the 1962 built CLAN MACGILLIVRAY, on voyage from Calcutta to Bremen, was among the last Clan Line ships in services, being sold in 1981 to become the Hong Kong operated CLAN MACBOYD as which she arrived at Shanghai on 1st October 1984 to be broken up
