Completed 27 February 1957 as a coastal minesweeper (M1155); originally fitted with Mirrlees diesel engines.
Commissioned April 1959
Refitted as a patrol ship & re-egined end-1971 at Devonport.
April 1972: formed, with 4 sister vessels, the 6th Patrol Squadron, based at Hong Kong.
Decommissioned 17 April 1985
Sold for scrapping at Hong Kong 23rd May 1985
Several (but not all) sources note that she was originally named “Kelton” but none indicate the date of change of name to “Monkton” or why the change
