Getty Oil's US-flag tanker WILMINGTON GETTY is here seen upward bound on the Mississippi River in november 1976.
She was built 1944 at Chester, Pa. as T2-tanker BLACK JACK for the US War Shipping Administration.
In 1947 she was sold to Tidewater Oil and renamed WILLIAM F. HUMPHREY. In 1967 she became part of Getty Oil Co, who took the tanker to Newport News, where a large rebuilding took place. When finish in 1968, her deadweight had increased from 16610 to 25590 tons, and her name was then changed to WILMINGTON GETTY.
And as such she sailed until 21 april 1983, when she arrived at Kaohsing, Taiwan for B/U.
