Description:
The pilot cutter Edmund Gardner was built 1953 by Philip & Son Ltd of Dartmouth.
Accommodation for 32 pilots, 11 apprentice pilots and crew.
The pilot cutter would be on a rota of 1 week at the Mersey Bar, 1 week off Point Lynas and 1 week as a supply vessel for the boats on station. She was withdrawn from service in 1981.
She is now conserved by the Engineering & Maritime Conservation Department at the National Museums Liverpool by volunteers.
