Description:
Italian VLCC-tanker AGIP SARDEGNA is here seen in ballast condition off the West African coast in november 1977, most likely heading for Persian Gulf to load another cargo for Europe. She was built 1973 at Italcantieri, Monfalcone, and was of 249 520 t.dw.
In 1985 she was sold to Libya and renamed SLOUG and taken under conversion to FSO. for use at the Bouri Oil Field off Libya.
In 2018 she was replaced by another FSO and taken out of service, and as far as I found out, she was then idle for a couple of years.
Now in february 2023 she arrived under tow at Aliaga, Turkey for demolition.
