Description:
The Soviet product tanker FRIDRIKH TSANDER, in bound Rotterdam, early eighties. She was one of the type 1559 tankers, of which 18 were built by the Baltic Shipyard and another eight by the Zaliv shipyard. Included are six units of the 1559B design, which were used as auxiliaries for the Soviet Navy.
FRIDRIKH TSANDER was built at Zaliv (#706) and operated by the Latvian Shipping Company out of Ventspils. In 1990 her name was adapted to the Latvian spelling and she became Fridrihs Canders.
In 1998 she was sold to FAL bunkering and renamed Jaguar I, in 2002 she was sold to breakers in Alang.
