The 1983 built FRONTIER MARU was one of the giants of her time when she entered service. Built for Kumiai Sempaku by the IHI Kure Shipyard (#2774) she is shown here at the EMO facility in the Dintelhaven, around 1984. In 1996 she was sold to Pedersen who arranged a time charter to Krupp and she became the ELBE ORE (one of many).
In 2005 she was acquired by Neu and renamed GRACE N.. At the end of her life in 2012, the N was dropped and she arrived in May 2010 at the Chittagong beaches. The pricely sum of almost 13 million dollar was what the breakers had to spend for this privilege.
