Gibraltar-registered HALIFAX is here seen at Cristobal, Panama in August 1991.
This tanker was built 1979 by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead, as ALVENUS for Lloyd's Leasing Ltd, London.
Her history is as follows:
1979: Delivered as ALVENUS (U.K.)
1988: HALIFAX (Gibraltar)
1991: CRIMSON KING (Malta)
1996: PLATE PRINCESS (Malta)
2001: PRINCESS (Malta)
27.03.2002: Badly damaged while in drydock at Dubai. Part of the dock gate collapsed and the dock was flooded. 35 shipyard workers lost their lives. The vessel was condemned, and sold to breakers at Gadani Beach, Pakistan.
