Description:

Furness, Withy & Co Ltd's 1964 Burntisland built NEWFOUNDLAND passing Portishead exactly fifty years ago today, on 1st September 1973 during a voyage from the east coast of the United States or Canada. She was soon transferred to Shaw, Savill & Albion, sailing from Liverpool on 7 November 1973 as CUFIC, bound for Auckland.

Later: 1974 NEWFOUNDLAND - 76 CUFIC - 77 GAIETY

As GAIETY, although photographed at Singapore in March 1983, she largely traded around the coast of China and was broken up at Shanghai in 1986
