DDG Hansa’s 1958 Bremen built AXENFELS outward bound from Rotterdam on 16th May 1975 during a voyage from Calcutta to Bremen.

Unusually, until 1969, AXENFELS was technically managed on behalf of DDG Hansa by Ahlers N.V. of Antwerp, which had operated her as Schelde. In March 1972 she was chartered to the newly created Royal Nepal Shipping Co. of Kathmandu as NARENDA LAXMI as part of a cooperation agreement which was terminated in April 1972.

Sold in 1977 to Naphtec Inspektions of Hamburg, she operated as STERNAL TRADER until resold in 1981 to A.G. Politis of Piraeus. Renamed SOCRATES, she was laid up at Ithaka from 4th July 1982 until sailing for Gadani Beach late in 1986 for breaking.
