Ellerman Lines' 1947 Swan Hunter, Wallsend, built CITY OF LONDON had arrived at Avonmouth on 10th January 1964 at the end of a voyage from Mombasa, sailing five days later for Dublin.

Here, she is seen off Gravesend in March 1965.
